Free Web Site Offer For Charities In Hull

16th February 2010

Ten registered charities in Hull are set to benefit from free websites worth £600 designed by leading online local search company, Infoserve.

Yorkshire-based Infoserve has launched the initiative to help local charities to attract more support in the current economic climate having discovered that many smaller charities do not have their own website.

To qualify for the three-page site with free hosting, local charities or their supporters need to tell Infoserve why they deserve to have a website created for them. Infoserve will then select the top ten most deserving charities in their opinion and design a website just for them.

Commenting on the initiative Derek Oliver of Infoserve, said,

“It is extremely difficult for most businesses at the moment so we thought that smaller charities in particular must also be finding it a bit tough. With 86% of people searching for local businesses online, it is essential that charities in the Hull area can be found easily on the internet.

“Before people support charities they need to know more about them such as who benefits from their work, what activities they have planned in the community, what the money raised has been spent on and who to contact. All these points can be communicated easily through a well designed website.

“As well as creating a search engine friendly site, we can also advise them on other ways they can promote themselves on the Internet.”

Infoserve is well placed to help and advise charities as it specialises in local online search, combining specific business sectors with particular locations. Its product portfolio includes the local search facilities on Yahoo!Local, its own leading local search site www.city-visitor.com, and over 100 specific industry sites, all of which collectively receive over 32 million visitors a month. It also advises companies on the effective use of Google AdWords.

If you have a charity you wish to nominate for a website email charityoffer@infoservemarketing.com or write to Charity Offer, Infoserve, South Side Aviation, Leeds Bradford Airport, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS19 7UG giving details why you believe it should be chosen for this special offer.

Infoserve makes key appointments to help drive continued growth

12th February 2010

A Tees Valley firm is defying the current economic crisis by achieving record sales and continuing to recruit.

Online local search specialist, Infoserve, has demonstrated its commitment to expansion after appointing two new senior managers to its Darlington team to help drive recruitment and sales figures.

Nichola Tully and Elaine Hoyle will be responsible for progressing Infoserve’s New Business (Customer Development) operation, which aims to improve staff training and help first line managers provide greater leadership and guidance for their sales team.

Tasked with focusing on the recruitment process, Nichola will be a pivotal part of the induction programme, ensuring all new recruits are well equipped and motivated.

Nichola joins Infoserve from Coats Crafts, where as head of UK customer service she was in charge of daily operations for sales and consumer functions across multiple sites.

Before this, she spent three years as a sales operation manager for CitiGroup, both in London and New York, growing the quarterly turnover from £3.5m to £15m and managing over 350 telesales staff.

Elaine will be responsible for the ongoing training and development of the line managers, stretching them to consistently improve performances of the whole sales team.

Elaine spent three years at Hutchinson 3G as a business markets manager and four years at T-Mobile UK as a sales and acting operations manager. She was responsible for an 80% growth in the sales department in 12 months for T-Mobile.

Commenting on the appointments, Mark Riley, Infoserve’s sales director, said,

“Both Nichola and Elaine will be a major asset for Infoserve. Their calibre and depth of experience, gained over years of successful management in varying business sectors, will undoubtedly help provide our new and existing customers with excellent results and help drive us forward with our ambitious growth plan.”
